READING OF THE WEEK

Globalization has brought about a series of profound changes in contemporary society. In the economic sphere, paradoxically, many small businesses have found new growth opportunities due to access to international markets. However, not everything has been positive. The outsourcing of factories has caused a significant loss of jobs in developed countries, fueling social discontent. From a cultural perspective, globalization has facilitated the exchange of ideas and traditions, promoting greater tolerance and understanding between different cultures. However, it has also generated cultural homogenization, where local particularities tend to disappear under the influence of dominant powers. This phenomenon has sparked an intense debate about the preservation of national identities. In political terms, globalization has led to an interdependence among nations that has changed the dynamics of power on a global level. International organizations have gained relevance, but skepticism towards these institutions has also emerged, with criticisms arguing that they do not always represent the interests of all the countries involved.
